Resolve to Read More

clock-book-xxsmall.jpgIt's that time of year... resolution time.  Everywhere you turn there is advice about everything from diets to budgets to breathing.  Have we been doing nothing right all this time?

With renewed passion and vigor "they" suggest we eat less, work more, focus our breathing, and count our blessings.  And I'm all for it.  Kind of.  I mean, I get that it's all good advice.  Probably stuff we already knew and tried to do last January in fact.

That said, the one piece of advice I think we should all listen to is to take more time for ourselves.  And for book lovers like us that means more time to read.

I suggest carving out an official reading hour -- daily if you can - if not - maybe just a couple times a week.  But be serious about it.  Tell hubby and the kids that it is the Official Reading Hour and they are not to disturb.  Perhaps get a door hanger or make a sign that says just that.  And then pour a cup of coffee or a glass of wine, maybe put some background music on and read, read, read.

Go on... you deserve it!
