About the Book

Pop-In Jay Pomp

Pop-In Jay Pomp is a young and ambitious man who passes over the mountains through a little town named Comport, on his way to the coast. His curiosity gets the better of him and he spends an entire week in the quaint little town with its silly townspeople. During his stay he meets a puny little official, two sisters and a newspaper editor. He falls in love but realises at the end of the week that destiny is set for him to leave the little town with the promise of return. The book contains 31 chapters (the maximum amount of days in a month). The story starts on a Monday morning and ends on a Friday. Comport, the fictionalized town is very quiet on Monday and extremely busy on Friday. Pop-In Jay finds this odd --- in a 'back to front' adorable way. The book is written with a gentle poetic rhythm. Alliteration and assonance is used to give the words and scenes a fascinating, loveable character that most children will enjoy.
