Discussion Questions

Finding Sara

1. Rather than continue arguing with her father over whether or not she would marry Grayson, Sara runs away. Have you ever run away from a troublesome situation? What were the consequences? Would you take the same action again?

2. Sara is careful not to tell an outright lie about her memory recovery. However, some might consider her silence the same as lying. What do you think?

3. One of the reasons Sara’s father feels justified in arranging her marriage is because he considers his own arranged marriage successful. What do you think of arranged unions? Have you known any that were successful?

4. What was the turning point for Jackson in realizing the time had come to lay his past to rest and pursue a relationship with Sara?

5. Molly doesn’t want husband Buck to ride in the rodeo because she considers the sport too dangerous. Do you agree or disagree that she should have a say in the matter? What obligations does a person have to his/her family when it comes to pursuing individual interests?

6. Do you think Jackson’s anger over Sara’s deception was justified? Or should he have been more forgiving?

7. What changes did Sara undergo during the course of the story? How did Jackson change? Did any of the others characters experience growth? J. Edward? Grayson? Rose? Molly? Buck?

8. Sara believes she fell in love with Jackson the moment she laid eyes on him in the train station. Do you believe in love at first sight?

9. The title may be interpreted on several levels. What did ”finding Sara” mean to Sara herself? What it mean to Jackson? To Rose? To Sara’s father? To Grayson?
