1. There’s a saying that people are going to do only what you allow them to do. Do you believe that’s why women continue to do Caleb wrong?

2. Caleb seems to have found the perfect woman in Asia. Do you believe he sabotages this relationship? Or do you believe they were never really compatible?

3. Do you believe it’s Caleb’s own fault that he attracts gold diggers?

4. Is it okay to take gifts from a man?

5. Paisley has gotten to the point that “it’s just as easy to love a rich man as it is to love a broke man.” What do you think of this attitude?

6. Paisley and Caleb seem to click instantly. Do you believe their attraction is genuine or are they both attracted because of what each brings to the table (Caleb, money; Paisley, appearance)?

7. Caleb’s issues seem to stem in part from his relationship with his mother. How do you think his childhood shaped the man that he became?

8. Dedra obviously has feelings for Caleb throughout their relationship. Why do you think it takes her so long to act upon those feelings?

9. After the drama she endured with Bobby, particularly being humiliated on television, Paisley says she is completely through with him. Why is Bobby so easily able to woo Paisley back?

10. In Chapter 31, Dedra tells Caleb, “If you dangle a steak in front of a dog, naturally it’s going to want it. And if you keep feeding it steaks, that’s what it will become accustomed to.” What do you think of this philosophy?

11. Caleb seems to be a mess when it comes to women. What do you think is the root of his problems?
