About This Book

Rock and roll may never die, but the King is definitely dead . . . again.

To pay off some bills, crime scene cleaner Gabby St. Claire takes a job doing mold remediation. But her first day on the job, she uncovers a surprise in the crawlspace of a dilapidated home: Elvis, dead as a doornail and still wearing his blue suede shoes. How could she possibly keep her nose out of a case like this? And what will happen when the ersatz Elvis’s killer catches on to her investigations?

Don’t miss this highly-anticipated sequel to the popular novel Hazardous Duty.

1. In Suspicious Minds, Gabby deals with the issue of loneliness. Most of us have felt lonely at some point or another. On what occasions have you felt lonely? Why? How have you overcome it?

2. Is loneliness a choice, or is it something that’s brought on by out-of-control circumstances? Explain.

3. Gabby explored some reasons why people end up alone. How does a technologically advanced society make it easy to become isolated? Do you fall into any of these traps? How do you combat isolation?

4. Do you know anyone who appears isolated? How could you reach out to them with friendship? What first step could you take?

5. Gabby doesn’t easily believe that God is real or accept an untested faith. She wants to be absolutely certain before claiming to be a believer. Why is it important to be certain of our beliefs? Does having faith mean never having doubts?

6. Read Hebrews 11:1. How do you define faith? How does faith differ from believing in God?

7. In Suspicious Minds, Gabby feels frustrated that Mr. Hermit’s son wants nothing to do with his father, yet she’s in a similar situation with her own dad. Often, it’s easier to see the wrongs in other people than in ourselves. In what areas do you struggle to hold yourself accountable? Is there an area of your life that you need to examine more closely?
