About This Book

She's found the love of her life.

Unfortunately, he loves her sister.

As World War I rages across the Atlantic in 1916, a smaller war is brewing in Boston. Faith O'Connor finds herself drawn to an Irish rogue who is anything but right for her. Collin McGuire is brash, cocky, and from the wrong side of the tracks, not to mention forbidden by her father. And then there's the small matter that he is secretly courting her younger sister. But when Collin's affections shift, it threatens to tear her proper Boston family apart.

Book 1 of the Daughters of Boston series, A Passion Most Pure will carry your heart from the sophisticated streets of Boston to the green hills of Ireland as men go off to war and women long for their return. Full of passion, romance, rivalry, and betrayal, it will captivate you from the first page.

1. Faith O’Connor is determined to put God first and her own desires second in her search for love. Do you think she has her priorities straight? Why or why not?

2. Knowing what you know about Faith and Collin’s families and backgrounds, do you think they would make a good match? Why or why not?

3. Collin obviously has difficulty deciding between the sisters, even early on in the story. Which sister do you think he is best suited for? Which will make him happiest?

4. Faith’s father tries to protect his daughters from Collin’s brash and disrespectful ways, as well as his poor reputation. Is Mr. O’Connor’s concern well-founded? Do you think he should protect his daughters or let them make their own decisions?

5. Eventually it is clear that Collin and Faith have strong feelings for one another. What do you think of Collin’s continued advances toward Faith while he is courting Charity? How would you react if you were Faith? If you were Charity?

6. As is sometimes the case, world events take the men in the O’Connor family, as well as Collin, away from the women in their lives. Has this ever happened to you? How did you cope?

7. While she is in Ireland visiting family, Faith develops a relationship with another man. Do you think this older, wiser man is a better choice than Collin? Why or why not?

8. Mrs. O’Connor and her girls suffer the devastating loss of a husband and father and must decide how to proceed without him. Have you ever lost someone important to you? How did you recover and what helped you begin to live again?

9. Faith is finally faced with a choice. How will her choice affect her life? Her sister’s life? The lives of the men between whom she must choose?

10. As this story shows, there are many twists and turns in love, and much of the time, love hurts more than it is pleasurable. How important is love to you?
