Author Interview

Q: What was your inspiration for Grace? Have you ever lived in a small, close-knit town like Cold Springs? Which of the characters in Grace, if any, do you identify with most?

JRW: As an English teacher, Grace brings the influences of poetry and literature to her students—"The Lady of Shallot," The Red Badge of Courage, Henry V, King Lear. Has any particular book or poem profoundly affected your own life?

Q: Grace Gillian is reminded daily of how to live and love by the epitaph Bucy left on her kitchen ceiling. Do you have any mottos you live by?

JRW: You have one bestselling trilogy under your belt—The Train to Estelline, A Place Called Sweet Shrub, and Dance a Little Longer. Do you think you'll continue the stories of any of the characters in Grace?
