Contacting Authors --- How do I send a letter to an author? Do you have an author's email address?
Out of respect for author privacy, The Book Report Network will not release the email or home address of any authors. If you would like to contact an author, we suggest that you start by searching to see if the author has a website. You can do this by going searching to Google.com or another search engine to look for information about an author website.
If you cannot find contact information on the Internet, we suggest that you write the author in care of his or her publisher. That address can be found in the front of the author's book. Publicity departments forward mail to authors. Here is a sample of how to address your letter:

Can you tell me the order of publication for books by my favorite author?
Many readers like to read series books in order. But figuring out the order of publication may not be easy unless you are talking about Sue Grafton's alphabet series or Janet Evanovich's numbered Stephanie Plum books. Before you request a guide, we have a few things you may want to note:
- Have you checked to see if we have your book guide listed? Check here.
- Many older titles do not have discussion guides available for them, as book clubs were not as popular in the past as they are now. If your group would like to discuss a book for which there is no guide available, may we suggest that you look at our What to Do When No Guide is Available feature.
- While publishers have begun creating discussion guides for books when they appear in hardcover, many still wait for a book to be released in paperback (typically a year after publication in hardcover) before they will have a guide available.
